Mike Hostilo has practiced law in Savannah and the Coastal Empire for 17 years. Known as an intense negotiator, he has recovered millions in settlements for accident victims as a personal injury lawyer.
Mike’s father was born in Emanuel County and raised in Savannah, GA. A career Marine, Mike learned discipline and hard work from his dad. Mike’s mother, a native of Japan, moved to America in the racially turbulent 1960's. As an interracial couple, the “Hostilo clan” faced many social challenges. From that upbringing Mike learned the value of hard work, discipline, perseverance, persistence and the ability to be open minded to all cultures and races.
A graduate of the University of Georgia and Atlanta Law School, Mike worked as many as three jobs simultaneously during the pursuit of his legal education. His diversity in employment allowed him to view life from many perspectives. He has worked in a variety of industries and positions including construction, security, food delivery, newspaper delivery, truck driver, store clerk, caddie, lawn maintainer, telemarketer and teacher. Mike has valued hard work, which has led him to become a lawyer for the people.
Upon graduation from law school in 1992, Mike returned to the area to practice with fellow Marine George Zettler. The late great George A. Zettler reinforced honesty, patience and judgment that had been instilled by Mike’s parents.
Mike rapidly ascended to the ranks of partnership by 1995. George A. Zettler quickly recognized Mike’s ability to relate to people and fight for their causes. Throughout his legal career Mike has maintained offices in Savannah, Statesboro, Augusta and Atlanta. Since 2007, Mike has devoted his practice as a personal injury attorney; focusing on auto accidents.
Mike is extremely active in his community contributing his time, services and money towards worthy local initiatives. He frequently donates free legal services to veterans and government officials, while also donating financially to a number of organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund, The Coastal Empire R.O.C.K. Group, Effingham Hornets Cheerleaders, Pooler Recreation Department and Goodwill of Pooler. In addition, Mike contributes time to his alma mater, the University of Georgia, Savannah Quarters Country Club, Beaufort Academy and the First Tee of Savannah.
